Thanks again. That is one small venue; the patrons are almost side-by-side with the band. I can see that neither Tjay nor Snoopy was onstage so they were definitely out of the band for this gig.

I revisted Bruno's site and it mentions for the Vegas gigs that it was a possibility that Snoopy and Tjay played with the band even though they had been dismissed. Dates for the Las Vegas gigs were purportedly Dec 31 '66 and Jan 1 '67.

Hi guys!

I'm here just to "clear the air" about the Las Vegas trip and if Snoopy and Tjay Contrelli were there or not and if the band played one day or two, so just to be clear:

The photos were taken by Laura Holmes at the Keith Austin and Steve Miller’s Teenbeat Club, 4416 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, December 31, 1966. From left to right: Kenny Forssi, Bryan MacLean, Arthur Lee, Johnny Echols and Michael Stuart-Ware (hidden). About Snoopy, I know that if you see these
photos there is a keyboards on the far right and I know that seeing these photos very very closely some people think that Snoopy was on keyboards because they think to see a little part of his hands and nose, but other people think that actually there was no one sitting on keyboards, and that this is only a "strangely visual effect", a "curiously optical illusion", you know what I mean? Also no one (including me) are 100% sure that Snoopy played with the band that night because......

".....although Piers Munro and Rich Lowry of Scatter Blues (opening act) remember that LOVE were a 5-piece band by that time (and that is also confirmed by a couple of pics of the band onstage), Johnny Echols and Michael Stuart-Ware are pretty sure that actually both Snoopy and Tjay Contrelli were in Vegas with the band too, and not just to hang out with them, but still as official members of the band (so this means that Snoopy and Tjay were also onstage with the band and the aforementioned pics not shown them only because they were just cropped). According to Johnny Echols, although Snoopy and Tjay are no longer members of the band since about three weeks earlier, they temporary joins the band again for that gig maybe only because this was booked months in advance and the venue may have paid for, and insisted on the 7-piece lineup. Another theory could be that the people at Elektra Records wanted to promote the recently released LOVE’s new album “Da Capo”, with all the seven musicians who had actually played on the album, including Snoopy and Tjay Contrelli exactly. Also, again according to both Johnny Echols and Michael Stuart-Ware, the band actually played two nights in a row there, not only the one on December 31, 1966 (and this version is also confirmed by an
eyewitness called Bill Walton). However, according again to Piers Munro and Rich Lowry of Scatter Blues, the gig was only one and was on New Year’s Eve exactly (and this version too is confirmed by another eyewitness called Michael P. Selinsky). By the way, if the band really played two nights in a row, the other date may be Sunday, January 1, 1967, because on Friday, December 30, 1966, another band called Chocolate Watchband was on the bill as main attraction, according to eyewitness Michael P. Selinsky."
