So has this tainted any of you guys love of game, or, do you feel the same way as always for your team and the World Cup?...and that it merely involved a bunch of greedy sleazy bureaucrats who have nothing to do with the real sport of the game?!

My love of the game is reduced to world cups and only if NZ are in it (We've only been in it twice!).

The corruption is something I think a lot of people have probably suspected for a long time but with no evidence. So it wasn't really a big shock.

To me what killed the game is the damn Hollywoods. You know, when they get lightly tapped (or not touched at all) and dive and roll around and and pretend they are in the worst pain of their lives! I hate seeing that so much.'

I've played the game and started when I was about 6. When I was 14 or so I was playing against grown men who tackled me just as hard (I looked much older than what I was) and I never once acted like that.

I remember going up for a header against a guy who was probably close to 40 and had a much bigger build than me and him elbowing me very hard in my back on purpose. I went down hard but got up straight away. He grabbed my hand and helped me to my feet and said "If you can't handle that, you shouldn't be on the field". I replied by explaining I was 14 and he became very apologetic and went easy on me for the rest of the game haha.

So my point is that I won't watch anymore because the players themselves are cheats.

I agree with what Roughie touched upon; namely that exposing FIFA as corrupt was fait accompli. Quite frankly, all big time sports are severely soiled. MLB and it's steroid past, NFL concussion and off the field violence, NBA and refs who bet on games, college sports with "student athletes" who have no business being in college except to play ... The list is endless. And what is the common denominator? $$$$$$$ From sports to politics to business, anything with big money involved is suspect, and as I age are things I don't want to follow or involve myself with.

Perhaps the FIFA and other bigwigs should read John's Unhinged book and take some notes about the greed gene. I mean, how much money do they really need?

I also hate interviews with sportsmen these days, it is always the same... "full credit to the other side/my opponent" blah blah blah. Never anything interesting or controversial, because they are not allowed to say anything or they will be fined heavily. Even when us plebs are watching at home can tell the ref wasn't up to the job or made some very obvious errors or was biased, nothing is ever said cause $$$$$.

Yes, no one can be honest anymore.

What's with that...lying takes so much energy and concentration...it's much easier to just tell the truth and have some integrity--and much more REWARDING for the soul!

Yes, and it also kills any innuendo, rumours, misunderstandings and frustration. Everyone knows where each person stands. An organization built on lies will not last. "The truth shall set you free". OK, soapbox mode off.
