Revisiting Canadian Label

Post by jamestkirk »

Thanks to Jim4371 ( :D like your new portrait!), thefreed & many others
I believe that we have concluded that this label is an odd variation that was pressed in Canada. Has anyone actually seen this variation that I have on any other pressing ( Doors, etc?) ??

I talked to Jack Holzman & he was at a loss. Said I should run this by the avid collectors. Anyway, I'm running this by you all for input or illumination,
maybe with all the new blood on the site I might get an answer.

By the way, it's not a boot; top quality , heavy vinyl in a US promo cover.
Maybe a small (Canadian press ) did this as is so often the case with pre-production releases (eg., test pressings, promos) as a promo for the US &/or Canada?

LOVE is one of my favorite Electra psych bands. Forever Changes!!
Anyone else here a LOVE fan?!

(I sent my images to the ULR that appears when clicking the button above...right??

[img]http://.....HOW do I insert images? I have a Mac. If you want to see these right away go to my previous submission@ Unusual Electra Label... :?: :?:

Click Img once, insert URL where picture is uploaded to, then click Img again. If it doesn't work, just paste the URL and I can post the pic.

Here's some background info from the original topic.

I'm new to this. I know how to send this to your email, which I did with the previous Label images? My images are on my desktop. I know you're not here to give basic lessons to computer novices (at least in respect to this, but...)
Click the IMG button? nothing happens. Drag & paste to what URL?
nothing opens when I type in your URL. I'm an artist; I need you to "paint me a picture". I'm using Camino as a browser; it's not always compatible. I can use Firefox or Safari. Thanks for your trouble.

:D :D What a great site....the recent memorabelia @"For instance..." posted of late have been fantastic!

If you have any questions about Arthur Lee & LOVE, just ask.
Although I was into The Doors for years already, Forever Changes changed my life in an instant.I met Arthur Lee a couple of times, remarkable man he was!

Never met him, but his music changed me also. I usually just go to your forum, so I naturally miss the other half of your art (with Arthur
on your right) at your home page. :D What a great pic & moment for you with Arthur....quite enviable. Jack Holzman's quote was so true: that he was one of only of a couple of true musical genius' that he had ever known, but that his fear of traveling was a tragedy....& kept LOVE from acheiving the true success they really deserved. Glad Arthur (seemed) to get over that in his later life, & finally received some recogntion with his final tours abroad. (Though the Brits & Europeans always seem to appreciate some of our better artists long after they fall through the cracks in the USA.)

I have only brown-label stereo copies of the first three LOVE LPs...are they any different in MONO other than the sound being better??

I'm sure you must have Brian MacLean's "andifyoubelievein" 180 gram LP. I have #210 in the 1000 numbered limited edition release.
What an amazing set of music for what was mostly recorded on a tape machine at home!! And a nice little bio inside on life with Arthur & LOVE. :D :D :D :D

Well, I'm a sucker for MONO.So yes, you should get yourself the first 3 LP's in Mono, it's really amazing how different it sounds. At least in my ears it does.

I have Brian's LP also, only on CD.Remarkable voice he still had.
Arthur was a genius, pitty he couldn't handle himself and messed thinks up for himself a lot of times.

Wish they had performed more in the 60's.But as Arthur thought, LOVE was a LA Band and they were most populair there in the beginning so he had no reason to Tour. The UK never left him and there are some true fans over there.

YEP to all. I DO enjoy talking to the folks on the Doors forum, but I can sometimes get bored with the Doors (not the chatter). LOVE, I never get tired of, for a listen or a conversation. How about you?

True, one can play Forever Changes the whole day without getting bored of it. That is offcourse if you are "caught" by the sound of it.It's an amazing album.

For me, The Doors always comes first, but MAN I do think LOVE is almost equal. It's not only the FC LP but also Da Capo and Four Sail are great album's.

But since we are kinda drifting off here, since this is The Doors Cool Memorabilia thread, maybe the Forum needs an LOVE Thread, since they are VERY MUCH Doors related. It was Arthur Lee afterall who got the Doors their recording contract....
Hands up who wants this?
